There are two ways you can do this.
The first is probably more correct. Get your hands on a sealed container that can accommodate all the tins. Get a glass jar with a lid. Take a pin and make a lot of holes in the lid. Half fill with cooled boiled water. Place the jar in your container and surround the jar with the tins without their lids. Close the container and leave them for 3 nights. Try the tins in the morning of the fourth day and they could be rehydrated. If not leave them till the next morning of the fifth. The scent will be very subtle but the natural tobacco will be invigorated.
The second way is to send them back to us and we can also add flavour. However, I don’t feel this would be the right way to honour your Grandfather.
