Hi Guys
New to the forum and the world of snuff.
I have been diagnosed with copd of the lungs due to smoking and wish to get off the cigarettes.
A friend suggested snuff as i have already tried vapes, patches, gum etc with little to no effect on the nicotine cravings
he gave me a half tin of McChrystals smokers blend snuff that took the cravings away,so i was wondering if anybody
has any thoughts on an easy to take snuff for the first timer looking to get off the smokes with enough nicotine content
to satisfy the cravings.
cheers
Alan
I highly recommend checking out “Simply Snuff” on YouTube, he will frequently tell you the “vitamin N” content of the snuff he reviews (nicotine being a no-no word there I take it).
You can’t really go wrong with Toque Quit or McCrystal’s Smokers for high nicotine, but I haven’t tried the latter.
There’s lots of different flavour profiles, some people like me prefer more menthol, eucalyptus, etc, often called “medicated” snuff, but others like other flavours. You should try a few different ones if you have the means to. There’s tons of other flavours such as “toasts” which seem to do the trick for cravings for me and have a smokey type profile. Just check out Toque’s website for all the different flavours on offer, you could spend a lot of time with just the in-house brands (Toque, Silver Dollar, Artisan, and Toque USA iirc). You can get a wide variety of fruit flavours if you have a preferred one. There’s also SPs which have a very interesting flavour that I need to order more of, Simply Snuff will sometimes call a snuff a “Top Banana!” as in his favourites, and Wilsons of Sharrow “Best SP” was one of them, and I agree, very good snuff.
Some things to consider as well are some are a bit more difficult to take than others. Something like the “Quit!” above or another with a somewhat medium grind is usually the easiest for beginners, while fine ground snuff can be hard to keep in the nose where you want it, and course ground (which are often prized) can present their own issues for newbies.
Best of luck, and if you have any questions feel free to ask us. Someone should know the answer, hopefully!
I love the SPs. If you’re looking for an SP with a good nic kick, SP extra from Toque is the best. As rdr said, the WoS Best SP is awesome too.
Try a lot of flavors. I’ve ordered so many now and there’s only a few I really wasn’t into and I traded them away on this forum’s marketplace.
Welcome and happy sniffing
I always say try the moist snuffs like our Otto range. They are easier to take for beginners, yet they are high in nicotine for smokers wanting to switch.
