The two Artisan Snuffs I’ve tried are great–Dark Rappee and Robusta Rappee. But I’m wondering why they aren’t fully ground? The little hard balls of snuff just wind up in the garbage. Any way to correct the problem?

Unfortunately not, if we keep grinding we lose that robustness we love.  We sieve all the time, and I don’t know how you are finding these.  When you do, can you crumble them or are they solid?

In both the Artisan snuffs that I’ve tried there are many little balls of hard snuff-not crushable with your fingers and too big to be snuffed–as I said they just wind up in the garbage. You must not be using a fine sieve. In any case the snuffs are great–just seems like such a waste.

I found you can mash them with a metal spoon on the bottom of the tin.

That is what I do and then I stuff them in my nose.  I love that they are slightly more oiled.
