I just wanted to ask you guys what you want most in a forum dedicated to you?
It seems that no matter how restrictive, invasive, and downright petty FB gets, it’s seems to be the platinum standard structure. It’s hard to pull people away. I tried to pull some to MeWe, but even those that joined never left FB, and eventually quit logging in. I never created a profile on snuffhouse, but I’ve been in this type of forum for handgun hunting and old military rifles, back in the day. The problem with this type of forum, is there’s no “feed” and no personal profile timeline. So all the the old school forum guys who started out like this are the ones who enjoy it. Very hard to draw away from #FactcheckBook
I would be happy if FB utterly failed and collapsed into ash. The only reason I’m still there, is the others WON’T leave. Why is it, no matter the aggression/repression one receives, they feel like They can’t leave? Too much time invested? Too many friends/followers? No matter how much people perceive that FB is the paragon of social media, it is oppressive to their free speech, invasive to their privacy, and dangerous in their manipulation. As far as usability, it is the shining diamond, but that’s only the illusion that hides the malicious intent. How do we make this a home for snuffers? I’m not sure you can, but I won’t say you can’t. An app is probably the best option, but it’s also the expensive option. I think people would pay a one time fee for such an app, though. A place solely for one group of individuals, that has a modern social media platform style. But that’s a lot of money for, in all probability, a few hundred people, at most. I wish everyone had flooded over here, but it will take pushing and perks.
Picklefist earlier referred to the old established Snuffhouse site. In the various Facebook forums I enjoy most the Snuffhouse-like discussions. Thus, thank you for encouraging discourse – sharing, supporting, informative dialogue from the off.
How do you make this a home for snuffers?
1. Integrate this forum into your webstore, or embed a Web banner link to it.
2. Send an email notification / invitation to join the new snuff forum to all your customers.
3. Consider setting an additional discount for your forum members 😉

Sounds like an idea… ☝️
Who posted that? 🤷🏻♂️
To whom ever wrote that it is all good info. I really want this to be a place that people feel safe to use familiar words and free speech.
I think a banner ad on Toquesnuff.com is the way to go. I’ve been a member of snuffhouse since 2015, but it’s gotten pretty quiet over there lately. I’ll be adding this page to my daily check-ins and expect some community to develop over time. I wouldn’t have heard about this page if not for someone mentioning it as an incidental on snuffhouse.

Might everyone be saying the same thing? Just leave, dang it. In my opinion, nothing justifies willingly participating in a system of agitprop and censorship, particularly not a reason as tepid as “it’s what my friends use”. Apologies for the socially ham-fisted introduction to your forum. I promise I’m not always so acerbic.
Cheers all.
EDIT: I was unable to post when I used the quote function. If I quoted in either the Visual or Text editors, my post would disappear. It worked once I manually added the “blockquote” HTML tag.

It’s not a matter of “It’s what my friends use” as much as a matter of never being able to communicate with friends and family. Posting anything on FB is no different than writing on the bathroom wall in disappearing ink. But it’s a communication line, and that’s pretty much all. I get what you’re saying, but #Imadowutido… 😉
Yes, I think if we give it a little time and we implement all the excellent suggestions It could do well. I have mixed emotions with regard to Snuffhouse. It was a great place to chat when Alex (fully independent) owned it. I used to be on it twice a day. It has been over a year since I was able to post.
If you can add international tracking feature option in the checkout it will be good.
Just c-pasting some very sound ideas of @Filip F from “Hello” thread here.
“Add a shoutbox. It is a place on the site where you can send small and quick messages and everyone on the forums sees them and can reply, without refreshing the site. It is something like a group chat on facebook, but everyone can talk.
Add Private Messages. This would be a great way how to communicate with other members, users could also disable their PMs if they do not want other users messaging them.
Make replies automatically quote the person, it will be much easier to see who is replying to who.”
@Roderick, what the hell do you mean, since you could post on Snuff house? Where you blocked? I can not image you being indecent in anyway.

Suggestions to make this a successful forum.

A really good search engine,
, or a way that when your typing in your post, it sort of shows you the search results/ or where your question/comment may already exist elsewhere within the forum. “A way to prevent reinventing the wheel”
A Ladies night, women was the main draw for me at Facebook, now that I’m an old man, I don’t even get on FB -much-, SCRATCH THAT “at all” now that I’m not on there fishing for dates. I looked on eF/Be marketplace for a 235-75-r15 tire, besides that I DONT USE FB for anything, besides deals on tires.
I think a stream of consciousness may function as a sort of, FB like news feed. A public thread could stay cued to the lastest responses, and when needed you could edit or delete your posts. And,,, Through a Private Message, you could exchange your contact info with a trusted friend, and not the entire internet.
From there you can search the forum and move onto another subject, or possibly a market place, maybe a photo gallery. Or you can read from a pdf Library where you can get a jump start with the newest book about cultivating tobacco for the home gardener. Or maybe a book about building a tobacco kiln that’s used to flue cure the Virginia tobacco you just picked.
It’s good as it is, nice and simple.
I haven’t been on Snuffhouse in years. I didn’t even realise I had an account here till yesterday. Was it automatically set up from my shop account, or did I just forget I had set up a forum account?
I like the idea of a banner ad on Toque Snuff. And an email to customers telling them about the Forum. The only thing new that I can add is a place on the forum to post reviews. Styled like tobaccoreviews.com for pipe smokers. Thousands of brands are listed, you post your review under that blend. Others curious about that blend can read the reviews for that specific blend. Maybe just offer the discount to those who PARTICIPATE in the forum.
I think the review feature on mrsnuff is so effective, it keeps me browsing and buying more. If you implemented reviews on toque, maybe link forum account creation to toque account creation (is it already? I don’t remember) and then a review on the site would be a post in the forum.
I very much enjoy forums like this. As an older person, having the ability to modify font on the forum would be most welcome. The default is very washed out and difficult to read. Resizing helped, but it’s very much on the pale side for my tastes.
