I’ve just cracked open my 2nd 10 gram tin of Asgard this morning, and it occurs to me that (until just now) I haven’t really spoken up with my thoughts about it. So, here goes:

1. This is, without a doubt, The Easiest to take snuff I have ever tried. A 100% newbie to snuff taking could “cut his teeth” on this stuff with only minimal guidance and, from there, grow by trial and error into the wider vistas of what’s out there.

2. Beyond the velvety, almost ridiculously comfortable feel of this in the nose, the scents are likewise gentle. The tobacco isn’t overpoweringly ‘dark’ in tone; moreover, sweetened with vanilla and honey, I feel like Asgard is both sweet enough to satisfy as an after-supper ‘dessert snuff’ while at the same time being subtle enough in flavor to be suitable as an ‘all day snuff’ for those who enjoy it that way. Of course, I can’t leave out the ghost of menthol present in the ‘flavor’ — and that bit of menthol may be — just maybe — a contributing factor in how easy Asgard is to take.

3. Now we get to the one thing — if anything — for which I’d have to dock Asgard some points. And I have to force myself to do it, because this isn’t PfalzerLand’s fault; it’s just the nature of how snuff works. That is: it seems to be a low-nicotine offering. And that’s a shame, because it’s probably the easiest make and model with which to shift from smoking or vaping to snuff taking… if the nicotine strength was higher. And then again, if the nicotine strength was higher, the burn would be hotter, making it less easy to take.

Overall, this is an almost perfect snuff, in my opinion.
