Anyone else have this issue? I have only had the issue with SG Kendal Brown Plain and only with Mr. Snuff orders. I order KB Plain from Mr. Snuff because they have it, not because I want to deal with them. My last order of 16 cans had 12 unsealed. If you haven’t experienced this, the snuff is dry, flavorless and lacking the nicotine punch. I’ll give Mr. Snuff credit for sending me 12 replacement cans, but 9 of those 12 replacements came unsealed. I’m done pursuing anything further with them.
I had an order a couple years ago where 4 of 16 cans were bad and emailed Gawith to ask if they were aware of any issues with their vacuum sealing. Naturally, they didn’t respond. I don’t know if the issue is at the Gawith factors, bad storage by then vendor, or pressurization changes in air travel. It’s a shame because it’s one of my favorite products of any kind in the world and I polish off a can every three days.
This is such a common issue. We have a scheme at the moment where we are giving damaged or out of date snuffs free to anyone who asks. These so called vacuum tins are in there. We can’t sell them so we give them away. Unfortunately, you can miss one. All I can say is if you are a Toque customer let us know and we will get a replacement sent to you. Best advice is buy toque.
Thanks Roderick. Sounds like the issue is with Gawith. At times they seem to run the operation more like a museum than a production facility. Very big into their history but the best representation and honoring of that rich history is inside the freaking cans.
I like how you seem to check them before they go out. It’s apparent that Mr. Snuff doesn’t. I’d love it if you would carry KB Plain, but understand if you can’t. I’ll always use you for anything other than KB Plain.
Just so you know, KB Plain has been dropped. It is now called KB Original.
Half of the time they have sent to me, the snuffs were tossed in a paper sachet. Seemed rather careless for such an order. I will definitely stay away from anything vacuum sealed from there. You probably have saved me a big hassle by posting this and I thank you.
I received my order of 20 cans of SG Kendal Brown Original from Toque today. 20 of 20 cans vacuum sealed! Thanks Roderick!
I’ve had this issue with a G&H and a S&G tin. The issue is from inspecting them is defects on the rim of the tin so it doesnt seal against the lid.
I will never use vacuum sealed tins. i hate them.
