    Hello to the forum.  I bought a 10g tin of Wilsons of Sharrow Bee M several months ago.  After transferring a bit to a daily tin I use I wrapped the original tin in electrical tape and stored in the refrigerator like i always do.  I pulled the tin out of the fridge after probably six months and it has these strands all through it. Kind of gray silver, look like little strands of glass but they’re delicate and crush easily.  Anyone know what this is and is my Bee M (terrible name for a snuff lol) safe to snuff?

    Those strands are a fungi, I can look em up in one of my mycology books. If you keep stuff in a fridge you need to let the container warm up to room temperature before you open it to avoid condensation issues. Pretty certain it’s a mold species with out looking up exactly what it is.

    Real fine whispy strands are 99% likely mold, there are only a few rare species of mushroom mycelium that are whispy or fine stranded. In that case 99.9997% sure it’s a mold. Can you identify if it’s an extremely toxic species of mold? Up to you.

    Aspergillus spores can grow in your lungs eventually giving you blood poisoning before it shuts down your organs. AKA black mold

    That’s what i was afraid of.  Thank you for your help. I’ve thrown the tin out, just gives me an excuse to order more snuff.

    I think I’d be in panic mode once I only had 1-200grams, definitely true anxiety at 100grams, lol
