Hello,
I’ve been coming in and out of the snuff hobby for like 2 years now,
I really like the concept, the smells, everything about it.
but I do have some problems while taking snuff, between getting my nose runny, to make it completely stuffy and dry,
there aren’t many snuffs I can take without any side effects.
I have (thanks to some helpful folks on discord) tried to understand what snuffs do it more and which ones do it less.
and try and find correlation for their acidity for example, I know I can’t take any WoS snuff, I know Bernard’s are the easiest for me to take.
usually coarser is easier.
the odd thing is that the Indian snuffs, as fine as they were, were the easiest to take, I could just take them then sit there and enjoy them, that’s how I fantasize I would want to enjoy most snuffs, are there any other that are similar to the indian ones in components and maybe can be purchased from Toque?
the lack of correlation made me think there’s a big chance my problem is my technique, I tried playing with it a lot but I will be happy if you guys can point me to proper technique, or point me to videos/texts that explain.
I see a lot of people saying to sniff from the front of your nose, do they mean the front as in the tip of your nose, the extreme side of each nostril (mostleft, mostright), or do they just mean, below the nose.
I of course try to do it as lightly as I can always.. but if anyone have any tips of ideas, please, wouldn’t want to give up the hobby since I love it.
Snakeseye, Boy have I been there. I won’t go back to my early years but let’s look at the last ten. I went through menthols like I was on fire. I absolutely loved them, and then out of the blue I got so bunged up I had to give snuff up altogether. Bad move but I went back to cigars and the very odd pinch. I started again with plain and then flavoured and did about 2 years avoiding menthols. Thankfully, I dropped the cigars and started back to snuff. What I find most amusing is that now I crave more menthol and the stronger the better.

Try out somthing fine ground and strong. Or somthing high in menthol.
