Hey all, I got my order a couple weeks ago and have been snuffing away. I made a second order last week, looking forward to trying more.
For my next order, I’m thinking about ordering a Bernard Gekachelter Virginie 50g Doser among others. My question is both the size, and the doser. As for size, is 50g too much? Seems like it would go stale unless you were doing it daily. I think I’m getting a doser with my second order, but I have found that I am like the Simply Snuff! guy and prefer normal tins rather than tap tins. Although, I do like the Poshl (Red Bull and President is the ones I got) tap tins, although they can be harder to dispense than the round rotate-for-hole tap tins. What do you all prefer, and how do the dosers compare to these two that I have?
Just curious as I might make an another order soon, any suggestions for things to try are welcome. Here’s what I’ve ordered so far:
First order:
Wilsons of Sharrow Africa 10g × 1
DR. Rumney’s Brown Tap Tin × 1
Silver Dollar Cherry 5G × 1
Snubie’s Toque SP Wintergreen × 1
Pöschl Ozona President Snuff 7g × 1
Toque Natural Toast Bullet × 1
Red Bull Snuff 7g × 1
J & H WILSON SP NO 1 5G TIN × 1
Second order (not received yet):
OTTO Red Rag 10G Tin × 1
McChrystals Jip – Small Tin 4.5g × 1
Wilsons of Sharrow Best SP 10g × 1
OTTO Schmalzler 10G Tin × 1
OTTO Classic RM 10g Tin × 1
Bernard Schmalzlerfranzl Fresco 10g Doser × 1
McChrystals Large Tin 8.75g Sunblast × 1
Toque Pomegranate 10G Tin × 1
Gletscherprise Snuff 10g × 1
I find I really like the menthol of the Red Bull and President and the Silver Dollar Cherry seems to have some sort of menthol in it which I like too (but more subdued). I got the Otto Red Rag because I hear it’s like Red Bull which is out of stock. Wanted to also try some more non-mentholated stuff as well, since the SPs is quite nice and the WoS Africa is delicious.
Not a big fan of either. I opened up all my tap tins and dosers and put them in different, more air tight containers.
My preferred methods are a spoon/paddle, or bullet. Not all snuffs work well in a bullet, but most of my favs work just fine.
I will do a pinch occasionally, but mainly when tasting a new snuff or one I haven’t had in a while.
