Any updates on when the Bernard stock will arrive?

Did I miss the Bernard shipment coming in?  I have been checking in every few days to see if they are back in stock.

Many of the German snuffs have menthol, which I typically avoid.  The products descriptions on the Toque site will clearly say if they have menthol or not.  For Pfalzer, Donnersberg is fantastic as it uses a special strain of German tobacco that is unlike any other snuff tobacco I have had.   For Bernard, Aecht Altbayrischer, Brazil Doppelt Fermentiert, or Fresco (in my opinion) are the best representatives of the classic German schmalzler (oiled) style.  For Rosinski, my favorite is Tabacum but the snuff community always seems to recommend Goldapper.

Bernard / Rosinski / Pfalzer  are closing down soon (May?) due to new EU tobacco regulations that would be impossible for small companies to comply with.  The big German snuff maker, Poschl, isn’t closing but their offerings are much less unique.  I’m not aware of camphoric/aniseed/clove German snuffs but there are plenty that are quite traditional in different ways.  You owe it to yourself to try something like Bernard Aecht Altbayrischer while there’s still a chance.

That’s a great idea Roderick! Looking forward to it.

I received my order of 20 cans of SG Kendal Brown Original from Toque today.  20 of 20 cans vacuum sealed!  Thanks Roderick!

Thanks Roderick.  Sounds like the issue is with Gawith.  At times they seem to run the operation more like a museum than a production facility.  Very big into their history but the best representation and honoring of that rich history is inside the freaking cans.

I like how you seem to check them before they go out.  It’s apparent that Mr. Snuff doesn’t.  I’d love it if you would carry KB Plain, but understand if you can’t.  I’ll always use you for anything other than KB Plain.
