If it’s Vitamin N you’re after, try some of the South African snuffs. NTSU Black (unmentholated) and Green (mentholated) are good, as is Taxi Red. They’re all moist and quite coarse ground. At the other end of the grind spectrum are the super fine toasts, like Wilson’s Irish No. 22 or its cousin Fribourg & Treyer High Dry T. They need a bit of practice to take though.

I decided I’d better find a Pöschl schmalzler I like as I can’t see them going to the wall. Fortunately I really like their Schmalzler D.

I’m buying as much Rosinski, schmalzlers and others, as I can ahead of May. I’ll be particularly sad to see René’s snuffs gone.
