Robusta has been in my cart for a bit now, same with Black Arabica. I’m getting pretty excited to put the order in. Carlsbader from Rosinski may be another you’ll want to try, the coffee is there but subtle. You can never go wrong with Rosinski. Silver Dollar still gets my vote for best coffee scent.

    Corrections:

I didn’t have all my tins when I was writing that but I found the others now. They’re all a little drier than when I first tried them.

Fresco has more coffee notes than I originally tasted. Thanks for making me revisit it. it’s going in my pocket for the day.

Black Eye dried out a lot but the flavor actually improved. a lot more coffee and less dirty butter than it had before. I still wouldn’t buy it again.

Paul Gotard… it seems to have lost all that molasses. Still nothing close to coffee. It’s developed a scent exactly like the washcloth that stayed damp in your shower for too long. Is it mold? Mildew? I can’t get the smell out of my nose. I would not recommend it.

I’m a little late but I find it interesting that you found the GH to have the burnt coffee flavor. I found the black arabica to have a burnt plastic kind of scent, though it was extremely dry when I received it and I’ve never gotten around to ordering a proper tin. I do think it’s in my cart now though.

Cafe Regal is one of my absolute favorites but I was never able to pick up much coffee, mostly just leathery tobacco.

Fresco didn’t impress me much but I’m not too big on schmalzlers. I’m rummaging through some boxes right now trying to find it, every snuff deserves a second chance.

Coffee Kick had a good coffee and cream scent but it stings more than any snuff I’ve had. It’s not a burn, it’s not just a little sharp, it has a lingering sting that I’ve never gotten from any other snuff. I’ve tried all the 6 photos too.

SNUV Black Eye is just bad all around.

Paul Gotard Coffee just tastes like molasses. I can’t find any coffee in it.

SNUV Nutty Joe is pretty good. Like a sweet cappuccino. I do get a bit of that sting but nearly as bad as the coffee kick.

I hope you tried the Silver Dollar because that and Dholakia Coffee Bite are the best coffees I’ve had. Very similar to each other. Neither is too sweet, they both have a great and very prominent coffee scent. Silver Dollar is a little easier to take so it’s usually the one I reach for first thing in the morning.

So, I went to Amazon and looked up “Machines Like Us”. I read the description and thought that was kind of an odd choice for a casual book club but is exactly the type of thing I like. I went back and read the original post. Turns out I was looking at “Machines Like Us” by Ronald Brachman.

I’ve got that and the correct one ‘Machines Like Me’ by Ian McEwan. It’s been a long time since I’ve read a novel, we’ll see if I make it through. I’ll read a repair manual for a dishwasher I don’t own but I find it hard to get into fiction these days.

The last novel I read was probably “The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch” by Philip K. Dick. The one before that was ‘The Man in the High Castle” but I don’t think you’d like that one very much.

After 6 long weeks with a broken hand I was finally able to open my stuck tin of Pfalzer Kalmit.

Very good to hear. I’ll have to throw some of the brownie on my next order. That McChrystal’s CBD is the only snuff in my collection that I’ll never touch again.

Any other secret menus I should know about?

It sounds like you would enjoy a lot of Indian snuffs. I’d recommend Himtaj, 6 Photo Special Snuff, and Punjabi Janta for that incensy flavor. There are others but those would be at the top of my list. I’d be happy to send you a small sampler if you live in the states.

I’m not the man to ask about nicotine buzz because I haven’t felt that since I was about 13. Instead I find that the satisfaction comes from the variety. I have a snuff for every mood, every type of weather or time of day. Different grinds and moisture levels scratch different itches. Sometimes you want a gentle, flowery snuff but sometimes you want to be kicked in the face.

Are they still available? I’m interested in any American snuffs. I’ve never tried any but need to know what they’re about.

I used to smoke two packs a day and I did for many years. I stumbled upon nasal snuff by accident. I never intended to quit cigarettes but snuff just took the joy out of them. I still keep a pack of cigarettes on me everyday but that pack will last weeks now. I only smoke them if I’m drinking with friends that smoke or if I’m very dirty at work. I’ve been using snus occasionally and very recently began smoking a pipe.

I’m interested in knowing about these. Was the base hemp or tobacco?
