Just read the dust jacket of my new copy of ‘Machines Like Us’ I think this could be a really good read.  I am very uncomfortable  with alternative pasts.  I love alternative futures but when I know it didn’t happen as  apposed to what might happen it puts my thinking in another place.

Unfortunately not, if we keep grinding we lose that robustness we love.  We sieve all the time, and I don’t know how you are finding these.  When you do, can you crumble them or are they solid?

I too am intrigued, I’ve just been to Waterstones to buy “Machines like us”.  Oliver’s choice is next.

Bingus, it is tobacco based 10ml per gram. Simply put 100ml per 10gram tin. Thus 2 grams will give you the recommended 20ml at the start and 3g’s 30ml, when you are used to it.  We are still not allowed to display it, so to buy it on Toque you have to search “super” in the search box, and you will find all three.  My favourite is Chocolate Brownie.

A very masculine book I have just read is “The Junior officers book club”.  It gets critical acclaim, but what do others think?

    Atwaterville,

I’m sorry, but if you refresh you will see that has gone.  The new steps aren’t bad.  The more you spend the cheaper it gets.  We reward the big spenders.

Yes, you are correct it is 1g. We pack it is so tightly that I always advise emptying half back into the grip seal bag.  This really helps the snuff to flow.

Welcome to the joy of snuff.  I have been snuffing off more years than I care to remember, and I still get the odd spot of snuff down my front.

The best technique to avoid mess is the wet finger. Lick your finger dip it in your snuff and rather than sniff, apply it to your nose.  But you don’t want to do this in public.  The second best is lick the back of your hand, put a pea sized pinch on the wet bit and then cover it with one nostril, sniff and brush anything left on your hand with a handkerchief.

Jip is in stock.  I don’t know why it won’t let me change it to in stock. I will get that fixed tomorrow.

We haven’t been able to ship to Canada until Friday due to the Russian cyber-attack.  I would think now is the best time for Canadians to order as they won’t be there to get in the way.

Hi Travis,  I always recommend beginners to look to Germanic snuffs.  They are much more moist than British snuffs and so far from American dry snuffs. I am not saying British or American snuffs are bad, just bad for beginners.  You can take huge spoonfuls of Schmalzler’s and oiled snuff’s and once you get used to these you can start experimenting with dryer snuffs.

I haven’t and am very unlikely to as my father left me rather a lot of very old Cubans in his will.

    Hi Guys,

Sorry I missed this.  Christmas is the worst time of year for mail plus the UK has a postal strike.

However, that doesn’t matter for America as we have to send by courier.  It works like this, Any order under $50 goes fully tracked $8.79, after $50, and most US orders are, fully tracked is free.  We ship twice a week and we get the tracking numbers when they reach NY.

Some, mostly east coast, get delivered in 5 days.  A large percentage hover around 7 days and the rest are 10 – 12 days.  Some, very occasionally, do get stuck in the system but once we chase them the get delivered.

I can’t help myself.  Red Bull and Red Rag.  I have to find out what it is with Red Bull that makes it the worlds most popular snuff.

It is normally, 5-7 days but, it is slowing down.  I think to the states we are seeing 10-15 days.

I’ve always pinched but recently tried a paddle, well a turtle shell spade to be correct, and I honestly didn’t notice a difference.

Hawk, I would go back to your post office.  You don’t need insurance when they have admitted their mistake.

I would say you are a heavy user.  When I first started, I had flirted with snuff before but I was still a smoker, I think I was using about 8g’s a day to help me stop smoking.  I think it was about two months later before I started cutting down. Now I am 2-3 g’s a day.  However, some other people I know never cut down and still use 10g’s a day.

Portugal is the worst place in Europe for sending snuff.  We have had to take it off our mailing list because Portuguese customs stop every parcel we send.  France is now one of the better countries to send too.  Spain is good for small orders, but very slow.

Jet fixer, I am the same.  The simple answer is salt.  At bed time and first thing in the morning I use my Neti Pot.  Yes, everyone on all the snuff forums know that I swear by my Neti Pot, but I also gargle salt water in the morning and the evening.  Helps reduce the nasal drip I get from Menthol snuffs.
